Now that GIMP has come so far and is so professional what else is happening? Some raw formats open in Shotwell automatically for some versions of Ubuntu, for others there is UFRaw, RAWstudio, Darkroom, and RAWtherapee which are all available in the Ubuntu Software Center. GtKam can connect with over 1100 cameras if you install and set it up. Pitviti video editor comes installed on the newest version of the Ubuntu. gPhoto2 can be installed and used for anything from time lapse to camera tethering. There is even a Linux video camera security and surveillance solution called ZoneMinder. If you have a Canon camera you check out Capture. We also found Hugin a panorama program, Qtpfsgui: an Open Source Workflow for HDR Imaging and Fotoxx is a program for improving digital photos within the Ubuntu Software Center. Things are happening!
