The Unknown Dialog Box...

One of the things we learned back in our MS Windows days (before shifting to Ubuntu) is that if you get a dialog box that pops up that is questionable, you will usually be given some choice:

Yes or No.
Ok or Cancel.
Scan or Stop Scan etc.

Cleaning High End Camera Filters With A Tooth Pick...

Lenses and filters always seem so fragile. Yet in trying to clean a Hoya Cir-polarizer we found out that they are really quite tough. Some way some how, a spot of some unknown kind appeared on what we thought was a pristine 67mm filter. We sold the filter on ebay and then discovered the filter had a spot on it as we packed it up to ship. You could only see the spot from one side if you held the filter in just the right light at just the right angle. But still, we could not ship the filter in that condition.

Outlook 2003 Outbox Messages Will Not Send Or Delete...

The Solution:

Within Outlook Express go to Tools > Send/Receive > Send/Receive Settings > Define Send/Receive Group... Ctrl+Alt+S. Then in the "Send/Receive Settings - All Accounts" dialog box click Account Properties and the "Internet E-mail Settings" dialog box will come up. Click the Advanced tab then move the Server Timeouts slider to "Long 10 minutes". Click OK then OK then Close to close out of the dialog boxes and try to Send/Receive your email. Since the server will have more time to send the mail, those big emails might make it. If they make it (or do not make it) when sending is done, you should be able to delete the Outbox messages or perhaps move them, at least we could which saved the day.
