I think the long-time supporters of this market know Shelagh Howell well. She owns Water’s Edge Farm in Reedsport, OR. She will join us this Saturday. She also goes to Coos Bay Farmers’ Market. She wants to see us, and say hello to you also. She has summer squash and cucumbers ready. She planted watermelon, tomatoes, hot peppers, eggplants, etc. which will come in later, weather permitting. Well, we want to see you, too, Shelagh.
Returning produce: salad mix, lettuce, broccoli, snow peas, collard greens, chard, peppers, beets, regular spinach Fruits: raspberries and strawberries.
Herbs: chives, thyme, parsley, sage, rosemary, tarragon, oregano, marjoram, dill, winter savory, lavender and 3 types basil--sweet, lemon, cinnamon.
Also returning: cold pressed soap, lotion, lip balms, cut flowers and honey!
New produce: Cucumbers.
Returning produce: cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, kale, rhubarb, etc.
John Snider of Southern OR has USDA organically-certified meat license. He can only come in every other Saturday since he also serves other farmers market along the Oregon coast. So he or his daughter Emelie will hopefully join us this Saturday.
Hand-dyed silk scarves, cozy flax bags and felted hats. Watch her work on the spinning wheel!
Patricia Clift will be back with her ornamental and succulent planters, only if able. Same also with Rosa Poiriar who is taking care of her mother.
Returning produce: lettuce (romaine and red leaf varieties), gourmet salad mix, zucchini and yellow summer squash, cucumbers, endive, beets w/greens, snow peas, kale (5 types), swiss or rainbow chard, collard
greens, mustard greens, spinach beets, orach (mountain spinach), aztec spinach, new zealand spinach, kohlrabi, rhubarb, peppers, tomatoes, sprouting broccoli, broccoli, and globe artichokes.
Herbs: chives, sage, parsley, oregano and basil (holy, african purple and genovese).
Returning fruits: Strawberries, blueberries (few pints), tayberries (few pints) and raspberries (lots).
New produce: lambsquarters (included in salad mix) and currants (just starting)
