Scratch and Sniff - In The Snow

Image Place Holder

Needing a place to lay, the deer carefully scratched the ground with a hoof while they sniffed the snow. Once satisfied they laid down. November 23rd might have seemed early for snow, as roses were still blooming.

"Little girls tired quickly of snow ball fights and seek instead the fun of making snow men together... "

Laying down, the deer waited out the snow fall that sent huge flakes to the ground and eventually covered their fur with white snow.

Scratch and sniff Before you lay it on down...

Later on after some of the snow had melted some little girls made a snow man with a fir cone nose and a branch for an arm. You could see a green spot near the snow man where another deer had laid and melted the snow. Deer in an early snow on the Oregon Coast had left their mark.

Snow man with a fir cone nose...

The snow had created yet another beautiful day near the lake. Temperatures did not get much below freezing and hovered above freezing during the day.
