Bat House Pipe And Phone Box Cover Design...

When we got this house we had exposed pipes that could freeze and well, they did not look all that great. When I added a whole house filter in the garage I converted the pipes to Pex and insulated them. No mater what they did not look all that great so a cover seemed like just the thing that was needed. This would allow the pipes to be better insulated as well and hid the phone box that we no longer use since upgrading to an OOMA.

The cedar is reclaimed and stained with two coats of Natural Deck Oil (clear tone) using a rag. We just leave the rag in the can between uses.

Another idea (after the cover was built was to make the cover a plant stand or light of both. We have also considered adding the water pressure gauges in the cover to get a quick look at the water system. This design that you see is also a bat house, which is really nice when you live near a lake or want to have bats near by to eat bugs in the evening. It can be favorable to give bats a number of easy choices on where to live. We have a bat houses on a number of sides of our house. They sleep in some of them but only hang out during the night in some of the others.
