VitalBodies put up a lake cam recently. That cam created interest and we started thinking about a deer cam that grew in momentum towards a wildlife cam. So we are putting out the word and trying to make this happen. We have three donations already. Two items to sell and one offer of tech help and insight. So far, the idea is that an IP camera is the way to go. The ultimate cam would be an outdoor hi-resolution cam with tilt and pan plus night vision. We could get by with less than that, but that type of cam would be the best to view wildlife with. We might also need Power Over Ethernet (POE) to power the cam. Or we could possibly solar power the cam or perhaps use a wireless cam.
"We are auctioning the items we receive on ebay."
As we mentioned in an earlier article, we see adult males, females and baby deer here most days and nights. They often sleep out there at night, and it is fun to watch them rest by day during many of the storms. They graze and eat huckleberries also. The deer are without a doubt a joy to watch. But beyond deer there may be many others (along with the crows) that are fun to watch. And who knows what goes on at night out there with all the wildlife?
Ebay Works for selling some things...
We are currently reaching out for donations of every kind to make this happen. Could be a donation of money, something we can sell, tech advice, doing research or... We have three donations already. We need to find the right camera (research), find a deal on that (shopping) and get it setup (techno). We are still thinking night vision, hi-res are important.
Displayed above are the items we received and are currently up for auction. Our first camera was up on a rare snow day here as seen in the image below and we could have seen deer in the deer cam (if we had one) that day also. We want to thank everyone for all the help...
