The Art Of Privacy
Art is fun. Creating a privacy page for a web site usually is not all that much fun. Since VitalBodies does not sell contact info we thought it might be fun to create a graphic that let our users know not to worry. But how to do that? We thought of an invasion of privacy in the classic sense and came up with binoculars as a symbol of that invasion, and then went to work having fun. The careful use of light and shadow and the right message written in text seem like just the right approach.
"The binocs gave me a laugh... fun graphic. The graphic almost reminded me of giant eyes staring as hard a possible into someone else's business, and how that's sort of the deal with some
companies -- they get into your business with that kind of intensity."
With only so much time to spend on the project we opted for a simple look that was simple to look at. We wanted the art to reassure the viewer that VitalBodies was not a place to avoid but a safe place to be without boring them with details.
