    Weyerhaeuser massive spraying near fish and domestic streams

    This will be published in Eugene  Weekly on Thursday, but wanted to give you heads up!  21,000 acres of spraying just for roads and roadsides within 10 feet of fish streams and people’s domestic(and irrigation) water supply streams all over Lane County and parts of Douglas just in these two notifications.  Probably happening all over Weyco’s holdings statewide!!!

    Lane Area Spray Schedule

    • Weyerhaeuser Company (746-2511) will spray 300 miles of forestry roads and roadsides in Western Lane and Douglas Counties from Gillespie Corners to Drain, and 400 miles in Eastern Lane County forestry districts with six herbicides plus surfactants as close as within 10 feet of domestic water supply streams and fish streams starting June 29th (Notice No. 781-50322 Western and 771-55409 Eastern Lane).
    • Gypsy Moth Spraying (SE Eugene): For assistance with Report of Loss contact Lisa Warnes, VP of the SE Neighbors Association, at 484-2210.

    Lane Area Spray Schedule

    • Oregon Department of Transportation: will spray Highway 126 West from Eugene to Florence tentatively on the May 18th, Highway 101 on the 19th, Territorial from Veneta to Monroe, and Highway 36 from Mapleton to Deadwood on the 20th. Call Don Angermayer at 736-2841 and/or call the Herbicide Application 1-888-996-8080.
    • Gypsy Moth Spraying (SE Eugene): The last tentative spray date is 19th. Aerial spraying was conducted on April 30th and May 8th. Health effects and social disruptions caused by the spraying are being collected and documented. Contact Lisa Warnes, vice-president of the SE Neighbors Association, at 484-2210.
